Initiation / Learn to Skate Program

The initiation program is for players 3 and up who are just starting out in the sport of ice hockey. This program is designed to initiate children of any age into the world of ice hockey. We teach boys and girls skating, stick handling and puck control. 10 one-hour sessions are included, providing ample ice time to work on skills. Helmet, skates, elbow and kneepads are required.
Typically, children will spend one year in this program before moving onto the Cross-Ice or Travel programs (dependent on age and ability). A few children need an additional year in this program. Before leaving this program, children should be able to skate forwards, backwards, stop, and be able to participate in a few basic hockey drills.
Join the Pottstown Penguins at The Hill School for this exciting Learn To Skate event. The cost is only $175.00 for 10 sessions. All participants receive a Penguins jersey.
*Requires helmet with full face protection, skates, gloves, elbow and kneepads.

Pottstown youth ice hockey club’s Learn to Skate program helps teach the game to fledgling players
Like a true Penguin, Dylan Fewell waddles back to the rest of the flock.
The 4-year-old from Collegeville weebles and wobbles a bit as he struts across the ice, but he doesn’t fall down.
Well, at least not this trip anyway.
